Extension Description
URLAbuse Reporter is a lightweight Chrome extension that helps users quickly report phishing, scam, malware, hacked, and suspicious websites.
With a single click, the extension captures the currently opened webpage URL and, when applicable, a screenshot of the page. This allows users to submit accurate abuse reports directly from their browser without copying URLs or manually collecting evidence.
To ensure transparency and trust, the extension's source code is publicly available on GitHub. Anyone can review the source code to verify how data is collected, stored, and transmitted.

Overview
URLAbuse Reporter respects your privacy. The extension collects only the minimum information required to submit abuse reports and DOES NOT track users, inject advertisements, or collect browsing data unrelated to reporting.
Information Collected
The extension may collect and transmit the following information only when you explicitly submit a report:
- URL of the active browser tab
- Screenshot of the active page (only for phishing, scam, hacked, or bet reports)
- Selected report type
- Target name (if provided)
- Reporter name (optional)
- Privacy preference (public or private)
- Authentication token (used only to authorize API requests)
Local Storage
The extension stores the following information locally on your device using Chrome’s storage API:
- Authentication token
- Reporter name
- Privacy preference (public or private)
This data is stored only on your device and is never shared with third parties. You may remove it at any time by clearing the extension’s data or uninstalling the extension.
Data Transmission
Data is transmitted securely to the URLAbuse reporting API only when you click the “Send” button. The extension does not collect or send data automatically or in the background.
Data Usage
Collected data is used exclusively for:
- Processing and analyzing abuse reports
- Improving detection and mitigation of malicious online content
Third-Party Access
The extension DOES NOT sell, rent, or share user data with advertisers or third parties. It DOES NOT track browsing behavior and does not access browsing history beyond the active tab at the time of reporting.
User Control
- Reports are submitted ONLY when initiated by the user
- Reporter name is optional
- Users can choose between public and private reports
